we8that’s belated national potato chip day post

We love chips, so 1. what better way than to share with you our top three savory treats on We8that? and 2. we’ve expressed our deep feelings for our favorite snack by collaborating with Pintrill on a “LAY-Z pin” for sale here!

In no particular order, our first favorite is Zapp’s Voodoo flavored chips (pictured). According to their website the “Voodoo” flavor was a result of an accident. “An employee was moving a pallet of spices off the top shelf and dropped it…someone stuck their finger into the mixture of about 5 flavors and pronounced it great.” And we couldn’t agree more! These chips are a mix of sweet, savory, and tangy, almost like a barbeque flavor but not quite. And did we mention, we love the packaging?

Second up are the Spicy Pickle chips from Michigan and Brooklyn based McClures’s Pickles. We love the combination of the spiciness from the cayenne and habanero peppers, while the pickled flavor gives it a tangy kick. They also have Garlic Dill Pckle and Bloody Mary flavored chips as well.

And last but not least, a new favorite of ours, Route 11’s Lightly Salted chips. True to its name, these chips are lightly salted with unrefined sea salt from an ancient seabed in Redmond, Utah. The chips themselves are light and incredibly crispy—a simple chip that would pair perfectly with a hearty sandwich for lunch, or a snack for any chip lover. Head on over to their site and check them out!
